Autumn Snow Globe: A Sensory and Artistic Exploration
Autumn is coming to the Les Mousquetaires nursery, and with it, a thousand opportunities to explore, create and be amazed. This week, the children made their own autumn snow globes, a project at the crossroads of nature, art and science.
Observe, choose, discover
It all started with an autumn walk. The children observed the fallen leaves, collected small natural treasures; leaves, pine cones, twigs, and then sorted them carefully. This moment of observation is essential: it feeds their curiosity and develops their sense of detail.
Create step by step
Back at the nursery, it's time for experimentation. The children first discovered leaf punching, an activity that stimulates fine motor skills while giving free rein to creativity. Then they painted the lids of their jars, freely choosing colors and textures.
Exploring water and movement
Equipped with pipettes, the children filled their jars with water and added their natural and decorative elements: leaves, golden glitter, small pieces of nature. This precise, seemingly simple gesture promotes concentration, coordination and observation of floating and movement phenomena.
Admire the result
Once the jars are closed, it's time for magic: the glitter swirls, the leaves dance, and each child contemplates his or her unique creation. These autumn snow globes reflect everyone's personality and imagination.
Learning differently
Through this activity inspired by our STEAM approach, children explore the links between science, nature and art. They develop their scientific curiosity while exercising their aesthetic sense. The autumn vocabulary is naturally introduced in French and Luxembourgish, promoting an intuitive and playful acquisition of everyday words.
In summary
A simple but rich activity: observe, experiment, create... and be amazed. At Les Mousquetaires, each project is an invitation to discover the world with hands, eyes and heart. 🌿
