Empathy and Cooperation Are Lived Daily

Growing together in a climate of respect and kindness

At the Crèche Les Mousquetaires in Leudelange, we embrace respectful, child-centered education. We have developed a charter of child welfare, integrated into our daily lives, which fully reflects the human and educational values we uphold.

A charter built with and for children

Our charter of good treatment is a living educational tool, designed to be understood by all children, even the youngest.
Thanks to real photos of the children, it becomes a concrete support which allows everyone to identify with them, to understand the rules of living together and to actively participate in the dynamics of the group.

It promotes autonomy, empathy and harmonious cohabitation between children, while developing socio-emotional skills from a very young age.

Our values: respect, cooperation, self-determination

Here are the key values carried by this charter, in line with the principles of the Luxembourg framework for non-formal education:

  • Recognizing the other: Each child is seen as a play partner, with their needs, emotions, and intentions.

  • Learning to live together: We guide children to share, wait their turn, and express disagreement without violence.

  • Expressing emotions: Conflicts are transformed into opportunities to learn to verbalize frustration, anger, joy or sadness.

  • Cooperate with kindness: Behaviors of mutual aid, listening, consolation and solidarity are valued on a daily basis.

  • Encourage autonomy: Children are encouraged to make choices, to express themselves freely, to participate in decisions.

Concrete implementation at the nursery

This charter of good treatment is not just a display: it structures our daily operations:

  • Spaces adapted to cooperation (symbolic games, quiet corners, shared equipment)

  • Soothing rituals: gatherings, songs, collective time

  • Positive educational language: “You can say stop”, “We wait our turn”, “We ask if our friend agrees”

  • Adapted media: books, puppets, stories about emotions

  • Partnership with families to ensure continuity between home and nursery, in a spirit of co-education.

Observe to better support

We regularly evaluate the effects of this approach:

  • more pro-social behaviors

  • fewer unregulated conflicts

  • a calm and caring group climate

In summary:

The Charter of Good Treatment is a cornerstone of our teaching methods. It allows us to support children with gentleness, clarity, and respect, helping them grow together in a safe and stimulating environment.
