Colorful workshops: a fun and multilingual immersion

An educational offer planned around the STEAM Concept

At the Les Mousquetaires crèche in Leudelange, we have set up a series of colourful workshops as part of our planned educational offer. These activities are part of our STEAM Concept, an approach focused on free experimentation, hands-on manipulation and active learning from an early age. Intended for children from 1 to 4 years old, these workshops have been designed and led by our educators.

Sensory and age-appropriate activities

The colourful workshops aim to stimulate:

  • Manipulation of colored objects to reinforce visual discrimination

  • Independent learning, through free play and creativity

  • The acquisition of notions of sorting, association and classification

  • The development of vocabulary in French and Luxembourgish

The approach respects the rhythm of the toddlers, promotes their autonomy, and is based on a wide variety of visual, tactile and playful supports.

A STEAM pedagogy adapted to early childhood

In a logic of learning through manipulation, each workshop offers an active and concrete experience:

  • Colour mixing with tinted water pipettes

  • Sorting small animals by color in pots

  • Magnetic shapes on carpets or cardboard supports

  • Multi-coloured ice cream cone creation with bilingual vocabulary

These experiences reinforce observation, memorization, and the pleasure of learning — all through play.

A bilingual environment at the heart of our values

In Leudelange, our crèche offers a natural approach to French/Luxembourgish bilingualism. During the workshops, the educators name and repeat the colours and shapes in both languages. This language immersion reinforces language skills in an intuitive and age-appropriate way.

This project is directly linked to the Luxembourgish plurilingual education programme, particularly in the development of language and communication.

💛 At Les Mousquetaires, we believe in learning that is joyful, colorful, and meaningful from the earliest years. These workshops are a good illustration of this.
